What is included to seal the Expedition Truck Cap to prevent water and dust ingress?
The OVS Expedition Truck Cap includes a 3M single bulb seal for the bed rails and bulkhead to prevent water and dust from entering. The rear hatch also contains a bulb seal that sits on top of the tailgate when closed. Additionally, 2 strips of butyl tape are provided to place at the bulkhead rail to protect against water and dust intrusion where the plastic bed rail meets the bulkhead.
It is important to note that no truck bed is completely sealed, and some water intrusion may be possible although greatly reduced with the bulb seal. Likely water intrusion is often found around the tailgate perimeter.

Does the Expedition Truck Cap come with a crossbar system?
The OVS Expedition Truck Cap 2024 Toyota Tacoma 5 Ft Bed offers an additional cross-bar option, which easily mounts to the included cap rails. These rails run parallel to the frame rails and provide a dynamic weight rating of 325 lbs and a static weight rating of 750 lbs. Additionally, the cross bars have a 2" rise above the cap for added versatility.

When utilizing the available Overland Vehicle Systems cross bars, the maximum dynamic weight capacity is 350 lbs, while the static weight capacity is 750 lbs.

Are the Expedition Truck Cap included roof rails compatible with other aftermarket cross bars?
The included rails were designed around the Overland Vehicle Systems optional cross bars. The included roof rails do have a 19mm slot which will allow for various systems. OVS has been testing various aftermarket crossbar systems and found that the Yakima HD Crossbars (SKU: #8001156), the Yakima Landing Pads (SKU: #8000221), and the Yakima Skyline Towers (SKU: #8000163) if bought together is compatible with their Expedition Truck Cap.

The current iteration features a stationary rear window, lacking a drop-down or pass-through capability.

The Expedition Truck Cap includes a stationary vent located above the glass on the nearest panel to the cab. This vent enables air to circulate and ventilate, preventing condensation build-up inside the topper. The panels can also be closed with the release of excess air.

Is there any drilling required to install the Expedition Truck Cap?
The installation of the Expedition Truck Cap for the Toyota Tacoma only requires drilling a hole for the wiring.
