What is included to seal the Expedition Truck Cap to prevent water and dust ingress?
OVS provides a 3M single bulb seal that is placed around the perimeter on the bed rails and bulkhead to prevent water/dust from coming in. OVS' rear hatch also has a bulb seal that seats on the top of the tailgate in the closed position. In addition, they provide 2 pieces of butyl tape that can be placed at the bulkhead rail where there is a step down from the side plastic bed rail to the bulkhead to help prevent water/dust intrusion.
It is important to note that no truck bed is completely sealed, and some water intrusion may be possible although greatly reduced with the bulb seal. Likely water intrusion is often found around the tailgate perimeter.

Does the Expedition Truck Cap come with a crossbar system?
Yes, an Overland Vehicle Systems cross-bar option is available in different widths. Just select the crossbars option above. The cross bars will mount to the included cap rails (the rails that go parallel with the frame rails). The bars have a dynamic weight rating of 325 lbs and a static weight rating of 750 lbs and have a rise of approximately 2” above the cap.

What is the load-carrying weight limit for the Expedition Truck Cap?
When using the optional Overland Vehicle Systems cross bars, the dynamic weight limit is 350 lbs with a static weight limit is 750 lbs.

Are the Expedition Truck Cap included roof rails compatible with other aftermarket cross bars?
The included rails were designed around the Overland Vehicle Systems optional cross bars. The included roof rails do have a 19mm slot which will allow for various systems. OVS has been testing various aftermarket crossbar systems and found that the Yakima HD Crossbars (SKU: #8001156), the Yakima Landing Pads (SKU: #8000221), and the Yakima Skyline Towers (SKU: #8000163) if bought together is compatible with their Expedition Truck Cap.

Does the Expedition Truck Cap glass closest to the cab have a slider or drop-down option?
The current design is a fixed rear window with no drop-down/pass-through accessibility.

Are the Expedition Truck Cap latches lockable?
Each Expedition Truck Cap will come with keyed-alike locks.

Can the Expedition Truck Cap be locked or opened from the inside?
The Expedition Truck Cap cannot be locked or opened from the inside of the bed.

Does the Expedition Truck Cap have a vent?
The Expedition Truck Cap vent is a fixed vent located above the glass on the panel located closest to the cab. The vent allows for air ventilation as well as circulation to reduce condensation inside the topper. It also allows air to escape during closing of all of the panels.

Is there any drilling required to install the Expedition Truck Cap?
The only drilling involved in the Expedition Truck Cap installation is the hole you drill for the wiring portion of the Toyota Tacoma installation.

Great customer service. Well made product and perfect fit. I was impressed with how well the parts were packaged and protected . Fits perfectly on my Toyota Tacoma. I found out that if you put the sides together, fit it onto the truck then put the top on it makes the process much easier. My only regret is that there should be a sliding window/opening for the front glass. This would compliment all modern trucks and be very convenient

I cannot reiterate enough how great this Cap is. From the beginning of my inquiry to the company when I wrote an email and within 12 hours had a direct call to speak about specific questions that I had about the product and durability. When all the boxes were checked and I decided to purchase the cap I received another personal call directly from Carsten to advise when the Cap would be completed and sent to me directly. The cap arrived promptly and when I opened the boxes to begin assembly, I must say I was worried that it would be more than a few hour process to put together. Once I opened the directions and went to work I realized how well made the product was. Within a few hours I had the entire Cap put together and ready to place on the truck bed. I did have a question about locking the cap onto the bed top correctly and within 30 minutes received another call from Carsten and after sending him photos of the locking mechanism directly I had my answer! I have now had the cap on for a few weeks and have been stopped by folks at stoplights and gas stations to ask where the cap is from. This has been by far the best customer service/purchasing experience that I have ever been a part of. If anyone is on the fence about buying this...don't be. Call the company and you will quickly find this is not your average big box company truck cap. The construction and material they used to make this gives you piece of mind that if anyone would try to break into the cap the person would have their work cut out for them. Not only is it durable, it also is one of the best looking aftermarket products aesthetically out there.
