Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack Kit for Lexus GX
The Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack System is a superior choice for expedition-style racks, offering a design that is slimmer, lighter, stronger, quieter, more functional, more aerodynamic, more durable, and aesthetically pleasing.
The Sizes for the Lexus GX470 (Prado 150) and GX460 (Prado 120) are available in widths from 1250mm (49") to 1500mm(59") and five lengths. The popular 2.2M (87") model extends from just behind the windshield to an inch before the rear hatch, maximizing rooftop capacity and it is the preferred rack of Expedition Overland. The 1.6M (62") version allows for sunroof use and also ends just before the rear hatch.
The dynamic weight capacity is about 500 pounds. This capacity covers, for example, the weight of a Roof Top Tent, awning, under-mount table, aluminum storage cases, and recovery gear. The static capacity can reach up to 1000 pounds, allowing for the extra weight of the people inside the Roof Top Tent. The Lexus GX models use a rack height of 5" and 65mm tall feet, which allows room for options on the bottom of the platform, such as a camping table.
Installation takes about 1.5 hours, does not require drilling, and uses a proprietary mounting rail that attaches to the OEM roof rack mounting points. Instruction videos and written guides are provided.
The kit includes a pair of mounting rails, a set of K9 feet, and a platform. The rack supports a variety of bolt-on accessories such as Jerry Can holders, axe and shovel mounts, and more. PLEASE NOTE - Additional components are required for the following vehicle:
Newer GX460 models (with factory racks flush against the roof) need four Toyota pinchweld trim pieces (Toyota Part Number is 75555-60020) to install Eezi-Awn K9 racks. These trims are standard on the Toyota Prado but not included in the Lexus version because their factory rack does not require them. Some trimming may be needed.
